I just have to say that my day-job bites.
Due to the current January-ness of the games market the unnamed high-street games retailer that I work for has deemed it time to tighten their purse-strings. This means only one thing – hours cuts for those of us on the front line. Most members of the sales staff are on as small a part-time permanent contract (4hrs per week to be exact). This allows the company to look after the shareholders by penalising those that work hardest for the company.
This is one of the reasons why many of the editors of many major games publications, print and online, will soon know me as, ‘that guy that won’t stop emailing them.’
Time to get some work done…
