I have been polishing this article for quite a while and now it is time for it to be published.
The first Just Cause was a fantastic experiment in sandbox gaming but sadly it failed. It only failed by virtue of the fact that, despite having the largest playground of any sandbox game, it lacked any great variety and it was ridiculously difficult to lose the authorities once you had attracted their attention pouring a constant stream of ice-cold water on much of my enjoyment the game’s potential for Bruckhiemer-esque stunt fun.
Just Cause 2 seems like it just might have remedied most of the previous game’s flaws and added a few nifty new features on top to boot. It is a game I will be getting at some point, although not on PC due to it’s requirement for DirectX 10 and my stubborn refusal to spend money on Windows 7 Pro (I just gotta have that XP mode) until it drops below the £100 mark.
