I have not ever enjoyed firts or third-person shooters on the PSP.
The lack of the extra thumbstick on the front of the PSP makes it difficult to play first and their person games properly – certainly form someone who spends most of his time on PC and home consoles. I think SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 has got it right though.
It has take the approach that it cannot hope to match the dual thimbstick and mouse and keyboard approach and manages to balance the demands ot the perspective with the flaws in the PSP’s controls it makes the game surprisingly easy to play.
It certainly beats Resistance: Retribution and even Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, both of which try to emulate the twin thumbsticks using the thumbstick and buttons on the right.
In terms of accessible controls, SOCOM is a breath of fresh air on the PSP.
